Frequently Asked Questions
What does a property survey actually involve?
A property survey is a detailed inspection of a building’s condition. We assess visible elements such as walls, roofs, floors, windows, and services, identifying defects, risks, and potential future issues. You’ll receive a clear report to help you make assess risk and make an informed decision before purchasing.
What type of Surveys do you offer?
We currently only offer HomeBuyer Reports (Level 2) or Drone Surveys. We have made this decision to focus on providing some of the highest quality Level 2 reports in the industry.
Can I ask the surveyor questions?
Yes, this is an important part of our service.
Prior to every surveyor we will contact you to ask if you have any specific concerns or questions.
Once you have read your survey we encourage clients to schedule time with us to go through your report so we can explain findings and provide clarity.
Do I really need a Survey?
Yes.
A mortgage valuation is not a survey, it’s carried out for the lender, not for you.
It won’t highlight defects or maintenance issues. A survey protects you by identifying defects and future risks before you commit to buying.
What qualifications does the surveyor hold?
Tom is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) & Residential Property Surveyors Association (RPSA). He also holds a Level 6 Diploma in Residential Surveying.
How long does a Survey take?
The inspection itself usually varied between 2-5 hours depending on the age, size & complexity of the property. Your report is typically delivered electronically within 7 days.
